I was bemoaning my own rotund figure at Belly Dancing last night, and yet was still entertaining the thought of stopping for gummy bears on my way home. Obviously, part of my brain needs to be soundly smacked.

(for the record, I did not buy any gummy bears, and ate an apple with peanut butter for dinner)

For other people interested in weight loss and/or exercise, I thought I'd point out a couple of things I found.

One, a blog by two PhD students about obesity and scams and whatnot. It's pretty good reading, especially the 'scams' articles. I created a feed ([livejournal.com profile] obesitypanacea) if you want to read it on your f-page, and the original blog is here. I haven't yet read an article I didn't like or thought wasn't well-written, and I have been reading for a few weeks - and I've read a lot of the older articles.

Two, if you're a Twit-head, there's a Twitter account: Twittercise. I've only known about this for a day (from Obesity Panacea), but it looks interesting, especially for those of us who sit in office chairs all day. Sure, it's a little silly, and some of the Twittercises aren't really do-able for some people and in some offices, but if it gets you to think about squeezing those glutes a few times a day, hey, why not? The real downside to this Twitter account is they re-tweet all the comments about them, and that's a little annoying. But I can ignore that, and hopefully the extra movement will help me (because there are days I swear I'm glued to my office chair).

Cleaning out my Yahoo e-mail account I found an e-mail from my gym. I was amused.
