...only ONE THING planned for each weekend. Never again will I plan on doing three things in one weekend. And by 'planned' I mean 1) volunteered for or 2) paid for. Not like 'I plan on going to the grocery store' or 'I plan on vacuuming the living room', but things I'm truly committed to. There will be only one of those.
Saturday morning I got up and headed out to my stint at the Electronics Recycling day. Good thing I got there early, because I had stuff to drop off and I had to wait in line for an hour (yes, we're saving the environment be recycling electronics, but there's that pesky little 'hundreds of cars idling for an hour' bit - I really think it could have been set up better, but what do I know. Evidently they've been doing it in this highly dysfunctional way for years). I then spent four hours hauling electronics out of people's cars and stacking them on pallets. The inside of my arms are bruised and scratched, and I broke a nail. Woe is me.
Saturday night we went to a suck-tacular baseball game (oh, I see the old Royals are back in fine form!) and walked around the new stadium, which looks far too much like an airport in the concourses and no longer has anything that makes it look any different from any other stadium. Sure, old Kauffman was a bit shabby, but there was something special and homey about it.
Sunday morning saw me out of bed at 5 am - 5AM! - and on my way to the charity run (walk). That went pretty well, there was a lot of standing around and waiting, and then a lot of walking. My shoes sucked, and after a mile I couldn't feel the toes on my right foot, but other than that, it was great. My time, if you should care, was 1:20, and that included a stop-in at the QT to get a coffee and an sausage-egg muffin. Probably could have broken 1:15 (which was my goal) without that. On the other hand, I might have fallen asleep while walking and/or hurt someone if I didn't have my coffee. Also, my walking partner did say she would have considered yanking me back by my braids if I went any faster, so...
Got home about 11-ish (I think) because I skipped the after-party (sorry, people, I just didn't feel like it) and went to sleep shortly thereafter. Sadly, I crashed before I drank enough water, so when I woke up at 3:30 I was nauseous and dizzy. Blergh. Drank a bunch of water, walked the dog (oh, joy!), had dinner, and am now frantically doing laundry while wishing I could just crawl into bed. I haven't had any 'me' time at all. No crafts, no games (okay, a few games of Bejewelled Blitz on Facebook), nothing. I kinda feel like I didn't have a weekend at all, and now I have to get up tomorrow morning and go to work.
Also: Teddy Grahams are enriched with Calcium. Who knew?
