So. Still alive. That's good. Still have remnants of the plague. That's bad. I've also developed a cold sore, broke out in a rash, and punctured the end of my finger. The last one led to a trip to the doctor's office for a tetanus booster, since it'd been 10 years and said puncture was created by a dirty, rusty piece of wire. All the ingredients tetanus needs to flourish!
I'd forgotten how much a tetanus shot hurts. Not the shot itself, because compared to the pain of shoving a chunk of metal through your fingernail, a little needle is nothing. But the ache afterward... and it just keeps getting worse!
That's what I get for destroying the fairyland that is my backyard. I told myself this was the year we'd tame the backyard. This was the year we'd not let weeds (and grapevines and trumpet creeper) run rampant. I did not, however, expect the yard to fight back. (Yeah, notice the fencing? That's what got me)
On the up side, I finally decided what to do with the troublesome, always wet and muddy spot in the backyard. We're going pavers and gravel and a rock-garden feel. Not any time soon, mind, there's a lot of work yet to be done, but... there's a plan! And I'm happy with that for now.
