Stupid, sodding TV.

The remote no longer works for the TV in the bedroom. This is only a minor problem, because it's hooked up to a cable box I can switch channels without getting up, but I can't turn it on or off or adjust the volume without going up to the TV, and it's not possible the change the input so I can watch a DVD. I tried programming the cable remote to work on the TV, no dice. The TV remote will work on the DVD player, so I don't think it's a problem with it sending, but rather, the TV won't receive. It started to go blinky (sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't) a few weeks ago, now it's dead.

This is what I get for buying a couch, isn't it? Every time I spend money on one thing, something else dies. Nevermind we have 6 other TVs in the house, I *need* the one in the bedroom. Plus, it's HD. And since we pay for two HD DVRs, I'm darn well going to have an HD TV.

I'm leaning towards this one. We could hang it on the wall and that'd free up the dresser top for stacks of DVDs...

My fortune cookie also told me I'd be switching careers soon. Since I have no plans on leaving, if the cookie is right, well, that'd suck. Gotta pay off the credit card, the basement, the stove, the couch... and save up for two cars, a porch, a new driveway, carpeting, and I just know the A/C, water heater, and heater are conspiring to die all at once...

But hey, I watched the season 4 finale to Dr. Who tonight, and, well, at least my life isn't as depressing as that, so it's all good. Man, was that a good finale. Good thing I have Eureka and Psych to cheer me up now! Not that the DVR is playing particularly nice, but at least I don't have to pay to replace that.
