Long weekend coming up! I have plans, of course, we'll see what I actually get done. I'd really like to finish up some crafts (I have 2 knitted scarves in progress, plus a bunch of little crochet projects I want to try and a few to finish) and read. It's been awhile since I sat down and read a book, and that's made me crabby. Much like if I don't occasionally listen to music I get edgy, not reading makes me feel vaguely unhappy. So it's time to sit down with a book, a cup of tea, and... cookies. I need to make some cookies, I think. Unfortunately, the book I need to read is Twilight, so I'm not sure if that will satisfy my need for a book. Might have to follow that up with something amazing. Suggestions? What best removes the Twilight aftertaste?

(it also doesn't help that the last book I skimmed was a romance novel by Beatrice Small - oh, god, I see why people don't like romance novels - it was bad, so very, very, very bad)

I also made plans to meet a friend for a day of shopping on Saturday, and it'll be nice to get out. Must... resist... urge... to... buy... yarn... :/

I calculated the time I've put in to the potholders I'm crocheting - by the time I'm done I'll have invested about 14 hours in them. 3 hours for each square, and then an hour to stitch together two of them and edge them. D: stupid time-consuming post crochet. It didn't help I used sport weight yarn. I wonder if one layer would work if you were using a bulkier yarn? I might try it.

And my to-do list is a mile long, as usual. I doubt I'll get much of it done (other than the fun stuff) but it's nice to dream... Is it Thursday yet?

Also: no one can decide on a release date for Lego Batman. It's somewhere between Sept 2nd (according to the local GameStop) and Sept 23rd (according to Best Buy and now Amazon, who was saying Sept 19th until this week). I want it NOW!

OH! OH! OH! OH! BN's web site says the one across the street has a copy of Creepy Cute Crochet: Zombies, Ninjas, Robots, and More! It's a sign. I must buy that at lunch. *nods* MUST. Amazon says it wouldn't ship for 2-4 weeks but I could have it NOW! :D

Crocheted doughnut pincushions. Will be a Snerfflebarglast prize. I'm also planning on making beige ones with dark brown icing, but other colors available on request.

Original pattern and another picture (a better one, and it has pins in it) can be found here.

In other news, I pace a lot. I've really noticed this over the last few days. I pace while waiting for the coffee maker, the microwave, and while I talk on the phone. Lots and lots of pacing. Until I sit on front of the TV or computer, then I'm the blob.

In further, even less interesting news, I really need to go to the grocery store. I was digging onto the dregs to make dinner tonight. We had tenderloin with potatoes and apples, corn, and I made cranberry bread. Also used up the slightly over-ripe banana that was sitting on the counter. I hate wasting food. Bet you can't guess what I used it in! If you said 'banana-flavored pork", you win a prize!
