Long weekend coming up! I have plans, of course, we'll see what I actually get done. I'd really like to finish up some crafts (I have 2 knitted scarves in progress, plus a bunch of little crochet projects I want to try and a few to finish) and read. It's been awhile since I sat down and read a book, and that's made me crabby. Much like if I don't occasionally listen to music I get edgy, not reading makes me feel vaguely unhappy. So it's time to sit down with a book, a cup of tea, and... cookies. I need to make some cookies, I think. Unfortunately, the book I need to read is Twilight, so I'm not sure if that will satisfy my need for a book. Might have to follow that up with something amazing. Suggestions? What best removes the Twilight aftertaste?
(it also doesn't help that the last book I skimmed was a romance novel by Beatrice Small - oh, god, I see why people don't like romance novels - it was bad, so very, very, very bad)
I also made plans to meet a friend for a day of shopping on Saturday, and it'll be nice to get out. Must... resist... urge... to... buy... yarn... :/
I calculated the time I've put in to the potholders I'm crocheting - by the time I'm done I'll have invested about 14 hours in them. 3 hours for each square, and then an hour to stitch together two of them and edge them. D: stupid time-consuming post crochet. It didn't help I used sport weight yarn. I wonder if one layer would work if you were using a bulkier yarn? I might try it.
And my to-do list is a mile long, as usual. I doubt I'll get much of it done (other than the fun stuff) but it's nice to dream... Is it Thursday yet?
Also: no one can decide on a release date for Lego Batman. It's somewhere between Sept 2nd (according to the local GameStop) and Sept 23rd (according to Best Buy and now Amazon, who was saying Sept 19th until this week). I want it NOW!
OH! OH! OH! OH! BN's web site says the one across the street has a copy of Creepy Cute Crochet: Zombies, Ninjas, Robots, and More! It's a sign. I must buy that at lunch. *nods* MUST. Amazon says it wouldn't ship for 2-4 weeks but I could have it NOW! :D
