Okay, everyone knows I like a lot of different types of books. Some that would be considered very cheesy by others' standards, like romance novels. And I stick up for my tastes, because just like every genre, there are good books and there are bad books.
...and then there's the book I'm listening to right now. Maybe I'm being over critical, maybe it's just the mood I'm in, but I'd say that to get to the level of suck of this book you'd have to hit rock bottom, then hire a backhoe. So why am I still listening to it? Partly because I don't have the other books on tape with me today (I could go check another one out, true, but I have two at home) and I'm jsut at work, might as well have it playing. It's like a train wreck you can't look away from.
This book has it all. Cheesy dialog! Cliche plotline! Technobabble! Overwrought, emo characters! Misunderstood, brooding characters! BAd sex scenes (which I can't skip like I do when I'm reading...)! There is absolutely nothing I can think of to recommend this book.
Except I want someone else to share my pain. So go to your library and check out 'Falling Awake'.
