What do you do when your problem starts before getting up and you don't even wake up to turn off the alarm? I mean, I don't believe I can turn myself into a morning person, but not being late once in a while would be nice...
I don't have too much of a problem myself these days, although I used to. To be fair, my alarm clock is another human being, which is much harder to ignore. ;)
Colum, though...not so easy with the waking up. He has two alarms, and they're BOTH across the room. So far away he has to get up and walk a good ten feet to turn them off. They're set to go off about five minutes apart from each other, so when he hits the snooze on one the other goes off shortly thereafter. This can go on, in five-minute intervals, for a good half-hour before he gives in and stays up. It's all quite ridiculous, but he's not late for work anymore...
On an unrelaed note, I got your package! I'm so totally making a quilt in 2008! Thank you!
i have the same problem. seriously. i've resorted to using my cell phone alarm and changing the ring tone every other night so that i don't get used to the sound. it worked yesterday, my first day back after vacation. today, however, not so much. i was totally ten minutes late this morning. like every morning i am 5-10 minutes late. and i know how you feel. not being late once in a while would be nice.
I've hit the snooze in my sleep, which is slightly better, because at least it gives me more chances to get up! But I'm also battling the face that I'm trying to be nice and not wake up my husband! I need to get over that...
On the weekends I have a furry alarm clock, but I usually get up, take her out, and then we go back to bed! I can ALWAYS fall back asleep!
I've also shuffled back and forth across the bedroom for an hour switching off the snooze. I know it's stupid, but I can't resist those few more minutes of snoozing!
I need something really obnoxious, but I'm also trying to be nice and not wake up hubby, who doesn't have to get up. So it's a balancing act between enough to wake me up, and not enough to disturb him. It's not working out well! Luckily, no one notices or cares if I'm late, which just makes it even harder to be on time!
Omg, *I* am that notorious person at work always. It just kills me to move in the morning. I need a mom to get me out of bed, the way I have to get my son out of bed in the morning... usually I'm late in doing that, so I take him to school, then start getting ready, so it makes me very late. Thank goodness I don't punch a clock, but it's painfully obvious anyway.
